Bookstonian is an online literary apparel, accessories and book store.
We share our customer's love for literature and lifelong learning.
To promote the magic of reading through books, art and fashion.
Bookstonian was founded on January 19, 2016 - Edgar Allan Poe's birthday.
Our name was inspired by The Bostonians, a classic written by Henry James.
Boston, the birthplace for much American literature, was home to many famous authors, among them Poe, Louisa May Alcott, Nathaniel Hawthrone, Henry David Thoreau, Ralph Waldo Emerson and Sylvia Plath.
We specialize in classics and literary themes. We also sell new books and other merchandise through our Random House, Penguin Classics, Simon & Schuster and Scholastic accounts.
Our mascot, Boz, is a Boston Terrier and constant reader who prefers books over bones. He loves Charles Dickens and children's books.
You'll find our products at The Poe Muesum in Richmond, Virginia, bookstores, book festivals, Amazon, and our online Etsy store.
Bill Weger founded Bookstonian in 2016, originally called Classic Booklovers. He created the company's first 50 products and continues to design literary-themed collections.
He is a former journalist and author of a middle-grade novel, Marshmallows over Manhattan. His nonfiction book, Inspire Good: Nonprofit Marketing for a Better World, won a top Hermes Creative Award.
Starting as a young reader, his love of books grew. For 17 years, he worked part-time as a bookseller. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Journalism from the University of Maryland and a Master of Arts in Public Communications from American University.
Bill enjoys running and has completed nine marathons in cities across the country, from Philadelphia to San Francisco. Along the way, he has helped to raise funds for cancer research. He also supports the arts and literacy programs.
